Is FilterHawk for Gmail only?

Yes, you must use Gmail (regular Gmail or Google Workspace domain email) to use FilterHawk. We built specifically for Gmail to provide the best possible experience.

Can I still use Gmail or any mail client to read my email?

Absolutely. FilterHawk doesn't replace Gmail or your favorite email client. It integrates with your Gmail account and handles the filtering automatically—you continue reading and sending email exactly as you do now.

Can I use my own domain email with FilterHawk?

Yes! FilterHawk works with both regular Gmail accounts and Google Workspace (custom domain) Gmail accounts.

What happens to my existing Gmail filters?

You can keep them active, but we recommend replacing them with FilterHawk workflows for the most predictable results. Once you create a couple of workflows in FilterHawk, you'll find it's actually faster and easier than Gmail's interface.

How does the new sender screening work?

FilterHawk automatically detects when someone emails you for the first time. You can set workflows to label, archive, or review these emails separately. It's perfect for catching cold outreach before it clutters your inbox.

Is my email data secure?

Yes. All sensitive data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption. We never store full email content—only metadata (subject, sender, labels) needed for your filtering rules and reviewing an email's audit trail.

Your emails always remain in your Gmail account. FilterHawk does not have the ability to delete any email from your Gmail account.

As for retaining data for you to review already-processed emails and audit your filters' performance, FilterHawk defaults to keeping these for 7 days before automatically permanently purging these old processed email metadata. You can set your retention window to be as short as 1 hour or as long as 365 days and you can immediately purge old data anytime.
